| 内容記述 | 「らうたし」は、奈良時代にはなく、『うつほ物語』『蜻蛉日記』『落窪物語』の時代になり使用されるようになる形容詞である。「非力な者に何とかしてやりたい気持ちを表す」と辞書等に説明されるが、語を使用する主体と対象の関係は明らかにされていない。小稿では『落窪物語』の「らうたし」を分析し、結果、この語は親から子、夫から妻などの庇護者から被庇護者にしか用いられない形容詞であり、「らうたし」と思うことを動機として直後に庇護者として庇護行為をするケースがほとんどであり、『落窪物語』の「らうたし」は主体の庇護行為の意思を含む願望を表す語であることがわかった。また落窪が窮状に耐え努力する姿を道頼が「らうたし」と思い、庇護しようという意思・願望をもつことがストーリーを動かす力となっており、この語は当該物語を象徴する語であるといえる。 | |||||||||||

| The paper examines the adjective, "routashi" in Japanese that began to be used in the middle of Heian era. "Routashi" is usually defined in dictionaries as the passion with which a person wants to do something for a powerless person by all means, but the relationship to each other has not been explained. Investigating the routashis in the tale of Ochikubo, they are used not only as the protective desire of the protector toward the powerless woman, but also at the same time the protector is shifting into protecting actions socially.Therefore, we can consider that "routashi" is the key of the tale. |
