Using the Corpus of Historical Japanese, I investigated whether some of the ateji found in the yomihon of Akinari Ueda and Bakin Kyokutei were transmitted to the ninjobon and the modern literature. I also examined whether these ateji origi­nated in the yomihon. Using the Nihon Kokugo Daijiten I investigated whether there were any examples of usage before the yomihon. I found that a part of the ateji was not found in any old dictionaries before the yomihon, but was found in the sharebon and ninjobon in the Edo period, and in the magazine \"Taiyo\" in the modern period.
