In this study, we examine the issues related to a new kind of nursery school including a terrace-type playground, which differs from the earthy playgrounds of conventional nursery schools, by interviewing nursery school directors. The results make it evident that nursery schools with terrace-type playgrounds comprise usage restrictions in complex facilities. Further, an awareness of problems related to children's natural experiences arises as well.
