Bubble milk tea's popularity was attributed to its being a delicious drink, coinciding with a boom in travel to Taiwan, and being widely promoted on Instagram. The recent slowdown in the bubble milk tea boom is due to the fact that consumers were getting tired of this product, and that consumers had realized its expensiveness and its being high in calories.
