The purpose of this study is to clarify the following. Firstly, what has been addressed in previous studies and railway publications related to school mathematics? Secondly, what kinds of contents from school mathematics are utilized in railway operation?
The three findings are as follows. Firstly, we can see problems related to railway operation in elementary, junior high and senior high school mathematics. And the problems are valuable mathematically. Secondly, there are many problems related to "numbers and calculations" in elementary school mathematics. Thirdly, it is important to select the correct data when creating problems related to the "utilization of data."
